VW Jetta, How Safe is it?
Safety is top of the list for the VW design team, and this is highlighted in the VW Jetta. With all the latest safety features as standard on the VW Jetta, you will drive more confidently, knowing you are in a safe environment. You have all round airbag protection with curtain airbags for passengers in the front and in the back, side airbags for passengers sitting in the front, and of course the standard drivers and passengers airbags. Worthy of a mention is the standard feature of a passenger airbag deactivation switch, which allows you to turn off and on the passenger airbag. This is useful if you require to put a rear facing child seat in the front of your car. If you are unfortunate enough to bumped in the rear, the safety features fitted as standard will help reduce the potential injuries like whiplash which may damage your neck and spine. The front head restraints are whiplash optimized and the seat belts are fitted with belt tensioners and belt force limiters, which all help to minimize the injuries of whiplash. To ensure the seat belts are comfortable for every driver, you can manually adjust the height of the position of the seatbelt to your preferred level. Further safety features like ABS (anti lock braking system) and ESP (electronic stabilization programme) aided with EDL (electronic differential lock) and ASR (traction control) all mean if you need to brake in an emergency situation, all the braking safety features will work together to stop you in the fastest possible time, all done in the blink of an eye. During emergency braking your hazard lights automatically come on to let other drivers around you of your situation. Combine all the VW Jetta’s braking features with the magnificent McPherson front axle and separately mounted dampers and springs, you then get complete control, as the vehicle roll is kept to a minimum. It is a lot to take in but with all these safety features becoming more and more relevant to drivers you soon become familiar with the phrase and abbreviations used. I’m sure that if you are currently a VW driver then you may know of these features already, or if you a ren’t a VW driver then maybe these are extra’s you have had to pay for to improve the safety of your car. Either way you can rest assured that when you are driving the VW Jetta that you have complete peace of mind that if anything goes wrong, you have got maximum safety and protection around you.
